It’s the newest pizza on the market, and beyond its funny name, it’s of interest to those of us attempting to eat healthier because it sells itself as the “world’s healthiest pizza”. While the American brand describes other pizzas as a big donut with tomato sauce on top, they say the naked version is better for you because it is naked – of additives, extra fats and especially, sugar. But they’re not much lower in calories: it’s the whole grains in the dough, with probiotics, which are the healthy element – apparently, they fill you up for longer and unlike other fast food, don’t give you a sugar rush – or the ensuing crash, and thus is suitable for diabetics.
But choose wisely. Instead of a medium original crust cheese pizza, 1,056 calories... try four slices of a small original crust cheese pizza (324 calories), and get some veggies and lean protein like chicken on top too.
