| The week before Valentine's Day 2011 is a throwback to '90s rock, grunge and hip-hop.Press photo.
On Tuesday, the Blue Nile presents the John Doheny Trio with Rob Kohler and Geoff Clap in their Open Ears Music Series, free weekly concerts of "interesting" music.
On Thursday, the St. Louis Cathedral hosts the fifth annual "Musical Louisiana" concert. Open to the public, this concert collaboration between the Historic New Orleans Collection and the Louisiana Philharmonic showcases works performed by "La Societe Philharmonique," a 19th century orchestra made up of free men of color.
On Friday, famous Guns N' Roses tribute band Appetite for Destruction plays at The Hangar in Mid-City. Opening for them is The Grunge Factory, performing your favorite '90s hits by Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rage Against the Machine.
And on Saturday, Salt-N-Pepa's Legends of Hip-Hop Tour reaches the New Orleans Lakefront Arena.
