Justin Bieber Loses His Locks...and 80,000 Twitter Followers
By Sophia Panych, [b]Allure magazine
If you've been following the world of pop culture this week you'll know that on Monday, Canadian crooner Justin Bieber cut his signature shaggy locks into a shorter, closer-cropped 'do. Tired of his old look, Bieber told Entertainment Weekly he did it solely because he wanted to: "That's it, not really a big reason," he said.

I'm really excited to see what the fans overseas think and take it day by day." Well, fans have sounded off on his new hairstyle, and many of them are not happy. According to the Daily Telegraph, the Biebs lost 80,000 Twitter followers this week. Despite the loss, he's still the second-most-followed person on Twitter (just a million shy of Lady Gaga), and continues to gain followers every day. However, his day rate has severely dropped—before the cut heard around the world, he was gaining 34,000 followers a day, and now the number is down to 8,000.
And the Twitter feed continues to buzz about it—because people that are still upset: "Between my boyfriend being in Germany for another week and Justin Bieber cutting off his hair I'm an emotional wreck" one young fan tweeted yesterday. "I don't like Justin Bieber's new hair. He doesn't look like the kid I used to like before. Damn hairstylist," wrote another. Others are ecstatic: "Justin Bieber's new hair??? LOVE IT!!!! Makes everyone know he's growing up! Good job Bieb!!!!," and, "I don't hate Justin Bieber's hair anymore. Tom Brady, please follow suit."

For those in severe mourning, you can actually purchase Bieb's hair clippings on eBay. The current bid is at $7,100 (!!!), but the auction runs for five days. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to The Gentle Barn, a non-profit organization that rescues and rehabilitates abused animals. We're glad the money is going to a good cause, because you have to have some serious Bieber Fever to pay that much for a bunch of dead cells.
