The view from my window today

I don't know whether it's the total lack of light outside but I'm having trouble getting out of hibernation mode this week. Today it has rained constantly and now it is a combination of snow, sleet and rain! It's usually bright in my house but today it's so dark I've had to put all the lamps on.

The Actor and I took our Christmas tree down last night. We faffed around on the internet trying to find exactly when was the correct time and seemingly last night was twelfth night so it had to come down before midnight. We managed it about 11.45pm. Our lovely tree is in the front garden waiting for the recycling people to come and collect it. I miss it's glow in the corner of the sitting room. I leave the glass tinsel fairy lights on the old TV in the other room all year to brighten things up a bit.

I'm lying on my daybed trying to get some inpiration for a blog today. I don't want to bore everyone with endless wardrobe posts but I don't have a lot planned this month. I'm still using my friend Sam's laptop as mine is in the menders until I go and collect it. I have loads of lovely, cheery colourful images saved on mine which would be perfect to post but it would take an age to find them all again. So today's blog is a couple of snaps I've just taken.

It even looks dark in here and I have the shutters open and all four lamps on! I think I shall lie here and read until I come up with some inspiration.

Here's a small section of the bookcase in the corner of the sitting room. I have four floor-to-ceiling bookcases in the house. There's plenty here I haven't read yet. There's a real mixture of good stuff and trash.

I can't stop buying books and DVD's. I buy a lot secondhand and I'm on first name terms with my Amazon delivery driver. My two main vices are definitely clothes and books.

Another pile here I've half started.

I have a ton of washing I could be getting on with... and of course the wardrobe! I shall maybe pop a wash on and see how I go.

Actually no, I shall go out. I'm off to my lovely neighbours Danny, Russ and Frances' house for some tea and roll-ups. That should do the trick.

How are you finding this weather, or is it just me? xxx
