Gunman shoots school official in Calif

PLACERVILLE, Calif. — Authorities were searching for a gunman suspected of shooting an administrator at a Northern California elementary school.
The victim, who has not been identified, was reported in serious condition at Marshall Hospital, Battalion Chief Larry Marinas of the El Dorado County Fire Department told the Sacramento Bee.
The suspected shooter has been identified police as John Luebbers, 43, a janitor at the school, KCRA-TV reported. Media reports also indicate that the suspected gunman was arrested at his home, though that has not been confirmed..
El Dorado County Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Byers said a man shot a school official at Louisiana Schnell School in Placerville, about 50 miles east of Sacramento, shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Byers says no children were injured and the school remains on lockdown.
He said about 50 officers from various law enforcement agencies were participating in a manhunt for the suspect, who has not been identified.
Byers says it's not clear what prompted the shooting.
